Look for products made from at least 90% natural materials such as organic cotton, linen, hemp, or wool. Many products are made with recycled polyamide (nylon) or recycled polyester. Although these recycled materials are better than virgin materials and certified by the Global Recycled Standard, they are still plastic. This means they contribute to microplastic pollution, particularly when washed, and can release harmful chemicals into both the air and your skin.
